Introduction of World Food Day
Every year on October 16, the entire planet celebrates World Food Day. The day commemorates the 45th anniversary of the foundation of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. The day is also observed by several other institutions associated with food stability, including the World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agricultural Development. The day is observed to commemorate the incredible food that we consume daily and make people aware of those of us who battle to receive even one meal per day. Over the ages, the majority of the day's topics have focused upon farming and funding in the industry to boost output and eliminate hunger problems.
History of World Food Day
The Food and Agriculture Organization's member countries created World Food Day in November 1979, after the suggestion of erstwhile Hungarian Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr Pal Romany during the organization's 20th General Conference. The UN General Assembly adopted this declaration on December 5, 1980, and World Food Day has been observed annually since 1981. It is observed by more than 150 countries worldwide. Slowly over time, it led to increased consciousness of hunger, poor nutrition, sustainable development, and food security over time.
