1. Physical Abuse

2. Emotional Abuse
Disrespecting, devaluing a child's feelings and making him feel guilty for being himself constitute emotional abuse. A physically tortured child will also have emotional trauma. Individuals who cause emotional abuse can be parents, friends, relatives, caregivers or anyone who has access to children. Bullying, teasing, insulting, restricting a child from being himself are common forms of emotional trauma.
Physically challenged children are at high risk of emotional and physical abuse because of their limited abilities. The most common form of emotional abuse on a differently-abled child is isolating them from society because of the parents' insecurities. This kind of abuse not just drains emotional intellect. It also leads to depression and other mental problems.
3. Sexual Abuse
Sexual abuse is the involvement of the child in the sexual act. As a result, the child carries emotional abuse along with physical injuries. Anyone who has access to children can be a potential abuser. Molestation is another form of sexual abuse.
4. Neglect
Neglect is another kind of child abuse, where the basic needs of the child are unmet. Parents and caregivers can be potential abusers. Avoiding talks with children, ignoring their requests for basic needs or restricting the child from speaking up for themselves also constitute neglect.
Effects of Child Abuse
Victims of child abuse often develop trust issues which cause them to become distant, quiet and restrict themselves in every way. Also, there have been instances of victims transforming into criminals and narcissists, also believe and follow that child abuse is a standard system for raising kids. Because of this, the next generation is prone to a cycle of abuse.

One can't deny the fact that child abuse existed and is prevalent. However, we can take up a few measures to set an environment where children grow in peace. Family is the primary source of support, be it physical, emotional, financial and social front. Therefore, parents must treat children as friends rather than parents, which makes it easier for a child to open up themselves.
It's crucial to observe changes in a child's behaviour, such as becoming silent and closed from joyous and happy, frustrated from a calm state, Also reduced grades and reduced interest in other activities. These changes could be a sign that the child is emotionally, sexually or physically abused. Parents' must approach in a friendly way to know, understand and believe the child and assure that issues are solved. Therefore, ensuring to identify and address, leads to better health and progress of the young generation.
