This fresh water can be used for consumption as well as agriculture and irrigation. It can also be used in industries for using hydroelectric production.
• Due to the existence of mountains, we have access to several natural resources like wood, coal and other essential minerals, basic edible materials, and drinking water. It also provides us with several renewable sources of energy like biomass, wind energy, hydroelectric power and several other sources of energy.
• Mountains are the homes to several varieties of plants, animals and flowers which are on the brink of extinction. Biodiversity is very important for the existence and sustainability of our planet. The forests found in the mountains are important for reducing soil erosion and improving the quality and quantity of air. They also act as a natural barrier to reduce the risks of a natural disaster.
