Introduction of World Homeopathy Day

A quiet struggle is raging among individuals all over the world over the finest option for patients, particularly between two fundamentally different views in the field of medical science, namely Allopathy and Homeopathy. This debate started when a well-known allopath called Sircar happened to come out in advocacy of homoeopathy. Mahendra Lal Sircar's speech to the British Medical Association (1867) offered a comparative picture of allopathic medicines and homeopathic, arguing that homoeopathy was underappreciated. But, according to the belief of many individuals, homoeopathy is thought to be absolutely safe for curing a variety of health ailments and enhancing well-being. Every year on April 10, World Homoeopathy Day is held to commemorate the birthday of Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homoeopathy.

History of World Homeopathy Day

Homeopathy is derived from the Greek words -homo- (similar) and -pathos- (suffering or sickness). It is claimed that Hippocrates' understanding of sickness and how much it damages our systems, instead of treatments, is what gave rise to homoeopathy. He considered understanding the indications of each people, how they behaved to illnesses, and the ability to recuperate are crucial in evaluating and treating the condition. This knowledge of the person has since been the foundation of homeopathic remedies. Homoeopathy was mostly ignored until Hahnemann reintroduced it in the late 1800s. Because illness was so prevalent during the period, surgical procedures were more harsh and intrusive. Professional treatment, according to Hahnemann, is completely inappropriate. He put a lot of effort into medications and chemistry, and he campaigned against inadequate cleanliness, which was the major cause of illness transmission. He also opposed harsh medical procedures and the use of powerful drugs that had adverse reactions. But his disenchantment eventually drove him to abandon medicine and serve as a linguist. While transcribing Scottish physician Dr William Cullen's "A Treatise on Materia Medica," Hahnemann recognized something in the medical profession that established him as the actual father of Homoeopathy. Cullen said that quinine was an excellent malaria therapy due to its astringent qualities. Hahnemann was also aware of it since it aids in the treatment of malaria, although he was sceptical of its astringent qualities. He conducted many studies. He gave himself quinine for a few days and recorded his response. He was shocked when, one after the other, he got malaria symptoms, although he was not sick with it. The symptoms returned each time he took the quinine dosage. Then he felt that the capacity of quinine to produce malaria symptoms was what made it such an effective and successful therapy. To demonstrate his hypothesis, he performed a series of 'criterions' on a team of volunteers, noting their responses. He conducted the same experiments upon others with common medications. He observed like Hippocrates did that ailment and curative processes vary depending on the person.
