As a poet I would say everything should be able to come into a poem but I can't put toothbrushes in a poem. I really can't.

Please don’t expect me to always be good and kind and loving. There are times when I will be cold and thoughtless and hard to understand.

History may be just bones and ruins to you, but it is people, Janet. People loving, hurting, and dying.

Most of us have achieved levels of affluence and comfort unthought of two generations ago. We've never had it so good, most of us. Nor have we ever complained so bitterly about our problems.

I learnt early to have little expectation so I protected myself from ever feeling greatly disappointed.

Well actually I don't think it's a bunch of bad things that send us to hell. I think it is rejection of God's grace.
