I began to explore America in more general terms. I really started this work in 2009. I got the bulk of it done as I was easing out of Disco Night.

The travel ban that was imposed by the [Donald Trump] administration is a very direct reverberation of 9/11.

It was sometimes provoked by assignments, then I'd go back on my own dime if I really clicked with a place. And sometimes it was just hanging out with my family or friends.

Either we stay at home and become pillars of the community or we go out and tour. We couldn't really find any communities that still needed pillars.

You are either alive and proud or you are dead, and when you are dead, you can't care anyway.

If you don't learn about each other, you do not understand each other, and you don't hide warts and all, both sides, then you're forever going to repeat history.
