I had a really good time on the show [Sisterhood of Hip Hop]. Most of all, what I've learned is I need to share what it is that I know.

When I get involved, I give it my heart, I mean my mind, my soul, my body: I mean every part. But if it doesn't work out, yo, it just doesn't. It wasn't meant to be, you know, it just wasn't.

What is happening right now? That in itself, is an exercise. Because you can get caught up in yesterday and tomorrow and missing their moment that they're actually in.

I was enrolled to attend Norfolk State University and then my career kind of kicked off.

I'd say if you can, seize the opportunity, to go to a college or university and strengthen what it is that you have.

[I like to read] spiritual books, non-fiction, fiction, I have my moods.

Live each day with ecstatic serenity

What's inside is none of your business. Your business is getting it for him and getting it to him.

Love is my family and friends. That close-knit circle that sticks by you through the years and through it all.

I think the chair's job is to be fair and I think the job of all of the vice chairs is to make sure that happens. And we have really robust conversations about what balance is, and it's not easy.

I couldn't remember the last time I hadn't had to fake gratitude for a gift, and now that I actually was grateful, thank you didn't seem to cut it.

Sometimes you have to bite the bullet. Not only must you learn to accept their gaze with your eyes but also with your heart.

I think I want to move forward. I want to move to Brooklyn and find a business Italian guy to take care of me.

You know, I haven't written as much as most other writers. Certainly maybe those who keep a more regular schedule accomplish more.
