I really wanted my music to reflect my personal life and what I set out to do every day.

I remember the excitement of being a new artist. When up and coming artists ask me like, "Any advice you have for me?" I always say, "Take it all in because you'll never be a new artist again".

The difference between the top performers and the average or mediocre performers is not a great, massive difference. It is just a tiny difference because the top performers do things just a tiny bit.

I don't like to write any music to a script. Experience has taught me that's generally a waste of time.

As I get older, I 've shied away from a lot of convention. I've just been making my records.
