The way you change and help music is by tryin' to invent new ways to play

Anybody can play. The note is only 20 percent. The attitude of the motherfucker who plays it is 80 percent.

I don't write. I usually look for material by other people. Sometimes I change things or adapt things but I don't write from scratch. I wish I had that ability.

I have to kind of like switch heads. Sometimes I manage it seamlessly, and other times I feel rather all over the place. I feel a bit schizophrenic, like I have a split personality.

But like Mrs. Ford, I think that the more people realize what a difficult and what an insidious disease it is, the sooner people will start to correct that situation.

Trouble shots are surprisingly easy if you activate your imagination. You simply must be able to imagine exactly what flight the ball will take before you can play any shot well.
