Unfortunately the world is what it is now. People don't get along for whatever reason. As professional athletes, in a way we're almost ambassadors for peace, because sports brings everyone together.

Some people say I have attitude - maybe I do... but I think you have to. You have to believe in yourself when no one else does - that makes you a winner right there.

I don't focus on what I'm up against. I focus on my goals and I try to ignore the rest.

Just believe in yourself. Even if you don't, pretend that you do and, at some point, you will.

My motto is: I'm alive, so that means I can do anything.

In my mind, I'm always the best. If I walk out on the court (and) I think the next person is better, I've already lost.

Of course, I want to be number one. But being happy and healthy is the most important thing.

Tennis is mostly mental. Of course, you must have a lot of physical skill, but you can't play tennis well and not be a good thinker. You win or lose the match before you even go out there.

When you lose, you're more motivated. When you win, you fail to see your mistakes and probably no one can tell you anything.

In the sports arena I would say there is nothing like training and preparation. You have to train your mind as much as your body.

If I cared deeply about what people thought of me, I probably would have never made it out of Compton, California.

I am willing to take any measures when it comes to the fundamental principle of human rights.

Normally you're 21 years old and you look like Tom Cruise and you do a couple underwear commercials first and then you're a movie star. That didn't happen for me. So it was all quite overwhelming.

The Governor has no presidential aspirations. In fact he just made a tour of 43 states just to tell them he's not running for anything.

I would use going into nature to clear myself - trees and plants including having plants at your house is a wonderfully natural way to continuously clear yourself.

I'm not going to let fear rule my life. I'd rather be able to know that I've made a choice that's right for me, than saying yes because I don't want my agents to be upset with me.

If I had been married earlier in life, I wouldn't have seen the double helix. I would have been taking care of the kids on Saturday. On the other hand, I was lonely a lot of the time.

Of course the Silicon Valley is unique and Berlin is not yet comparable. But of all the different cities that are building a startup infrastructure, Berlin is the one with the most similar energy.
